The Villa Tenuta Lonciano is fantastic. Our 3 families totaling 10 people, including 4 children between 6 and 15, spent a marvelous week at the Villa. The accommodations were charming, updated and allowed us ample room for each family. The Villa, which is historic, could easily accommodate a larger group. We used the large infinity pool, lovely sauna and hot tub nearly everyday. The view is incredible and the location up in the hills outside Florence provided a welcome respite from the heat. Most wonderful of all were our hosts—Antonella and her sister Monica. They were fun, engaging and helpful in every way. The Tenuta Lonciano is a true gem!

This villa in the Tuscan countryside was absolutely AMAZING! I have travelled all over the world and this trip was easily my #2 destination. Beautiful views, amazing home. We had a group of 11 and everyone thought this villa was just spectacular. Pool, hot tub, sauna, walking trails. This is away from the city, about 40 minutes outside of Florence, but well worth it. Host was fantastic. Provided grocery shopping services so that we had food and wine upon arrival. We hired a chef for 3 nights - Beatrice prepared delicious meals with fresh local ingredients. We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation.

This villa is an old convent with stunning views over the olive groves, valley and rolling hills. Antonella, our host at the property, was charming, attentive, quick to respond to texts and made us feel at home. The villa had all the modern kitchen and bathroom amenities and is full of antiques and interesting pieces. The location is perfect if you want to explore Florence and north. The only drawbacks would be that the location adds 45-60 minutes of travel if you are primarily visiting areas south of Florence and if you stay in the winter, heating adds a considerable fee. We used only 1/2 of the villa for one week and our heating alone was over €200. Antonella, our host at the property, was charming, attentive, quick to respond to texts and made us feel at home. We especially appreciated her shopping for us and stocking the kitchen with our requested items. The gift of olive oil produced on the villa property was a nice touch. Many thanks to Antonella for her kindness and exemplary service!

As others have mentioned, the house is rather lovelier than the photos suggest, full of thoughtfully chosen pieces and charm. Antonella, the owner is warm, friendly and clearly very hard-working: the whole place is put together with love. We definitely recommend having Beatrice and Stefania cook for you: their food and service were excellent. Staying in also means you get to enjoy the varied sunsets from the canopied dining terrace before dinner and the twinkling lights of Sesto Fiorentino once it is dark. Plenty of china, cutlery, glasses etc and kitchens and bathrooms all equipped with appropriate soaps, gels, dishwasher tablets, coffee and so on. Beds were firm which was good for half of us but not so much for the other half! Loved picking ripe green figs fresh from the tree. Only downsides are that you are a little remote (hence the views though) and the very inviting and beautifully situated pool does not have a cover so was a bit too chilly for this sybarite! Hint: if you’re leaving the villa for, say Montecatini or Prato turn left at the top of the drive, ignoring Google Maps - the route will readjust and save you 10-30 minutes compared with the original suggested journey time. Recommended!

Oh my goodness. We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place to vacation with our family of 16! The property is fabulous our 16 grandchildren enjoyed the pool and the grounds after long hot days in the city and the adults spent many hours laughing and talking on the lovely patio. The chefs provided 2 excellent meals for us which provided some leftovers for our stay. There are a few excellent restaurant choices close by. Something to plan for ahead of time here is that getting a taxi to the villa can sometimes be challenging. The ride into Florence is about 30 minutes and can be a bit longer with traffic.

We loved it! Super charming with lots of communal areas inside and outside - it was all around pretty idyllic. The kitchen was updated and very well stocked (more plates than a Crate and Barrel). The rooms were private, well maintained and had comfy beds. Our host was always very responsive. We did have some electrical and water issues but they were resolved quickly. Note - You definitely need transport as there isn't anything within walking distance.

The villa and property was beyond any expectation from the photos. Antonella and crew greeted us with such warmth and the magnificent view was breathtaking. The villa was spotless and beautifully decorated. The infinity pool and outside dining with dinners prepared by 2 fantastic cooks made this an unforgettable experience. There are hiking trails all around the area and a fantastic sauna and hot tub.This was a family gathering of 14 and we all had our own privacy in air conditioned rooms. The breezes on this high hill top were delightful.
It was so easy to go to Florence by train after driving into Sesto station taking a total of 40 minutes.
We would return to this dreamy Tuscan villa and hope that we will someday.

Incredible place for a large family or group of friends. Great amenities (pool, sauna, hot tub), amazing views, and spacious rooms. Note you'll need to plan ahead (if you do not have a car) for a taxi service or any tours you're looking to do as they book up and it's not walkable to any public transit. Not to worry though, our host was extremely gracious and helpful with coordinating transportation, wine tours, and cooking classes, so as long as you give some notice this should not be an issue!

The most beautiful villa! I booked to stay at Tenuta Lonciano with a group of friends for a ‘hen do’ celebration and it was absolutely perfect. The rooms were so comfortable with beautiful decoration, the view is incredible (especially from the hot tub when the sun is setting!) and it’s ideal to be in the middle of nature with no one else around. Antonella was so friendly and helpful both before and during the stay. Although the villa is not within walking distance to a supermarket this didn’t bother us as it’s a fairly close taxi ride to Sesto or Florence. Would love to come back here again!

Das war wirklich sensationell. Hatten schon viele Häuser, aber hier passte alles. Absolute Alleinlage. Nächster Nachbar bestimmt 2 km weit weg. Mega Aussicht und absolute Ruhe. Haus innen drinne natürlich nicht hoch modern, ist ja auch schon ein paar hundert Jahre alt, dafür aber top. Badezimmer (sind glaub ich 8) alle neu und modern. Draußen der Garten und die Umgebung ist wirklich nicht zu beschreiben. Pool auch wunderbar und der Ausblick vom Whirlpool ist unglaublich! Der Service vor Ort war auch super. Die Hausverwalterin stand für jede Frage zur Verfügung. Hatten noch zusätzlich ein Abendessen in dem Haus gebucht, wo wir richtig gut bekocht worden sind. Wir können dieses Haus uneingeschränkt empfehlen und würden sofort wieder hinfahren!

It is a beautiful villa -- historic and rustic. The location is secluded and relaxing. You can easily get to Florence and surrounding areas as long as you have a car or drivers. I highly recommend the chefs/cooks hired by the owner. We also cooked for ourselves one night. While small, the kitchen has everything you need to make a wonderful meal. The pool and grounds are wonderful. My only disappointment was that there is only A/C in 3 out of the 9 bedrooms and we were there during a heat wave and A/C would have really helped.

Buongiorno..What a terrific find! After hunting through hundreds of villas , we found Villa Tenuta Lonciano! It was absolutely perfect for our family of seven adults and four grandchildred ages 17, 16, 14, and 13. The villa was more than we had hoped for and terrific for our needs. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and one was nicer than the other. The kitchen is filled with every utensil you could possibly need and includes plenty of dishes, pots and pans and silverware. There is a lovely long dining table both inside and outside... including a grill. The outside table is perfect for an evening meal surrounded by the beauty of the hills and looks down on Sesto Fiorentino and Florence. Indeed, the entire setting is more gorgeous than the pictures on the website. Daniele is a wonderful host and even made reservations on our first evening at a nearby restaurant called Ulivo Rosso where the waitress was outstanding and the service was great. We also had carry-out pizza there one evening which was delicious!

We took day trips by car into Siena, Florence( by train), Venice and Fiosole (a small, ancient town only about 1/2 hour from the villa.) (We rented two Vans in Florence) It is rather easy to get into Sesto Fiorentino from the villa. You will find the train station into Florence there as well as a grand grocery store, Esselunga.

Our trip to Italy was a wonderful success due to our having found this gorgeous home with such magnificent views, a pool, Jacuzzi, fantastic gardens and olive trees. Its location is wonderful....We would certainly recommend it to anyone searching for a dramatic setting with a friendly and helpful host. Our son and son-in-law loved the drive up to the villa....many hairpin turns, but they were able to navigate the road in minivans. We would love to return to Villa Tenuta Lonciano some day! Ciao!!!

The villa is beautifully decorated and is situated high up in the mountains with breathtaking views. Hopefully this is not the last time we visit Tenuta Lonciano.

Wedding : During our stay at Villa Tenuta Lociano we had our wedding, and had booked Valentina Dimore as our wedding planner. We had communicated via mail for several months about the wedding. Valentina did an excellent job - we couldnt have asked for more! We really felt she was listening to our wishes and doing her best to fulfill it. Vi holdt vores bryllup i Villa Tenuta Lonciano. Værten Daniele gjorde alt for at vores ophold blev uforglemmeligt. Han har renoveret bygningerne smukt og man kunne ikke andet end at føle sig hjemme! Vi fik lavet mad fra lokale “mamma” flere gange og det kan klart anbefales - det smagte så lækkert! Villaen er svært beliggende og det er en nødvendighed at leje bil for at komme dertil. Det er super nemt at komme til Firenze fra Sesto togstation (lad være med at tage bilen ind til Firenze - parkering er voldsomt dyrt), og det koster kun 2€ for en billet. Tag ind til Firenze sent på eftermiddagen, så er de fleste turister forduftet.

The location: Tenuta Lonciano is the setting for a coffee-table
picture book of Tuscany; the grounds are beautiful; the vista
inspiring; the peace & quiet rejuvenating.
The facility: 700+ year old structures are beautiful, well appointed,
comfortable, & spacious.
The host: Daniele made it his personal responsibility to ensure our
time in Tuscany was all it could be. The dinner he had prepared for
our family (8 people/3 generations) was wonderful & a MUST for all
guests.

Our group of ten rented 2 cars in FLorence and drove to the Villa. The first time or two up the mountain was unnerving and best done slowly and carefully. By the end of the week we were quite comfortable with it. It was a ten minute ride down the mountain to the train station in Sesto Fiorentino which has a freee, well lit parking lot, and a short 11 minute ride into Florence. The Villa has all amenities you will need, includeing the pool and hot tub and the kitchen was fully equipped with a full size refrigerator. Recommend buying some groceries and wine before heading up the first night. While it is very private, the numerous hiking trails are accessible at the end of the driveway. Daniele arranged dinner prepared for us one night, in house, which was very good and a lot of fun; had a steak dinner one night at LaBottega di Morello (just down the road) which was excellent. It is close to the Villa and accomodated our large group with ease. Our biggest regret was not spending more time at the Villa on the terrace, enjoying wine and the spectacular view.

This is definitely a one of a kind property. The villa has phenomenal views and has plenty of space for large groups. Having rooms in the main villa with (3) rooms in the annex does give everyone privacy and room to move around.

Having a rental car for the short drive into Sesto Fiorentino to catch the train to Florence or elsewhere is a must and we learned to navigate the narrow roads and turns down the mountain to get into town just fine. Some in our party where directionally challenged to find the villa and their are signs to "Tenuta Lonciano" leading out of Sesto Fiorentino on Highway 130, you just have to look closely for them. Our navigation wanted to take us the long way to the villa and that may be because of the narrow roads on the shorter route.

Air conditioning is NOT provided although shown as an amenity on the listing. Fans are provided in each room and sufficed to make our September stay comfortable. There are no screens on the windows and the owner supplied the house with electronic mosquito plug ins.

I highly recommend having dinner cooked by the villa. Beatrice and her assistant provided 2 of our most memorable meals and of course the villa setting is the perfect place!!!!! Kudos to their cooking talent!!

The hot tub was perfect and the pool water temperature might be
a little cold still despite the upper 80 to low 90 degree day temperatures. It was fine once you settled into the water.

The property management staff and owner were very professional and very helpful and attentive.

The historic charm and the beautiful setting set this place apart.

Villa Tenuta Lonciano is a spectacular relaxing spot just outside of Florence. We took the local train into Florence almost every day - only 11 min to SMN Firenze. Please note that the drive from Sesto Fiorentino is a little hairy with one lane switchbacks. Just take your time. There are lovely restaurants near the villa and it's easy to day trip to Siena or others. We had 2 dinners at the house and enjoyed both of them. The weather was perfect and Daniele was very sweet and prompt and we would love to come back. We loved staying at your beautiful home. The view and the pool were so relaxing! Thank you for everything.

Ein ideales Domizil für Großfamilien. Zusammen essen und feiern und dennoch Rückzugsmöglichkeiten durch die großzügige Raumaufteilung auf mehreren Ebenen. Fast alle Zimmer haben zusätzlich kleine Wohnküchen und Terrassen. Unsere Teenager haben es genossen, in den drei Wohnungen der etwas abgelegenen Dependance in ihrem Rhythmus zu leben. Alles ist mit viel Geschmack eingerichtet. In der Küche fehlte nichts. Drinnen wie draußen lebte es sich herrlich. Unser host Daniele war sehr hilfsbereit und Beatrice hat wunderbar für uns gekocht. Ein herrlicher Ort, für den man die Kurverei nach Sesto Fiorentino zum Einkaufen und zum Bahnhof (empfehlenswert: Zug nach Florenz für 1,50€) gerne in Kauf nahm.

Perfecto para familias con niños o grupos grandes, para pasar unas
maravillosas vacaciones en le Toscana. En nuestro caso eramos un grupo
de 4 adultos y 6 niños, que hemos disfrutado de una estancia de 7 días
en Tuneta Lonciano. La Villa esta ubicada en la ladera del monte
Morello, con una panorámica impresionante sobre Florencia, disfrutamos
de tranquilidad y naturaleza. En 5 minutos en coche se llega a Sesto
Fiorentino, la localidad mas cercana , donden estan todos los servicios
necesarios (Carrefour), y la estación de tren para acceder al centro de
Florencia en 10 minutos. La vila es muy amplia con seis habitaciones ,
casi todas con cama amplia de matrimonio , y un salón principal con
chimenea donde en ocasiones desayunábamos. En la parte exterior se ubica
la piscina, jacuzzi, Ping-Pong, una amplia zona lounge para estar y
disfrutar de las vistas, barbacoa .... En Tenuta Lonciano también hay
una pequeña granja donde se pasaban horas los niños En resumen es un
destino ideal para familias, por la capacidad de la casa, instalaciones,
autenticidad de la construcción, que permiten unas vacaciones aisladas y
tranquilas pero a su vez con buenas comunicaciones para disfrutar de
toda la zona (Florencia, Siena, Pisa, Luca, San Gimignano, Chianti....)
Por ultimo nuestro querido anfitrión Daniele. Un autentico caballero
Italiano que se preocupó en todo momento de nuestro bienestar, nos dío
muchos consejos utiles ( En un radio de tres Kilómetros hay 4
restaurantes muy buenos) y solventó cualquier petición nuestra. También
organizó para nuestra primera noche en la casa una fabulosa cena de

If you think this place looks gorgeous from the photographs then you will be stunned by the views in real life! I had been admiring the place through pictures for months before our booking but had not expected something quite so beautiful and breath-taking.

We were greeted at the gate by the fabulous Daniele who was welcoming and informative, and had arranged a snack buffet with water and juices for our arrival. As he showed us around the villa each room was more beautiful than the last, to the point of not knowing which room to choose! Each room is personalised by it's own theme (cherry, olive, lemon etc etc) and each equipped with it's own working en-suite. It was lovely having such a cosy and stunning bedroom but really you don't want to spend much time indoors after seeing the garden.

The first time Daniele showed us the garden my jaw was permanently fixed to the ground because of it's beauty. Rolling hills of greenery and the distant shimmer of the nearest town in the distance make for a stunning view, of which the sunset is spectacular. Considering the villa sleeps 17 people, you're never short of somewhere to sit. Comfy sun loungers overlook the swimming pool and the view and then there's a shaded area with comfy sofas and heavenly white linen swaying in the breeze!

I went with a group of 17 old school friends which could be quite daunting for an owner but Daniele was welcoming, helpful and friendly and we definitely will be returning (if Daniele will have us!!) to the lovely Tenuta Lonciano! The most beautiful place i've ever been.

We took our children and grandchildren (17 people all together) to
Tenuta Lonciano, april 2017 and stayed there for one week. What a place
!! The view is fantastick, the bulidings are beautiful and all the rooms
have a special design. The Toscany dinner which were made for us by a
lokal chef, was delecious. The service was top and we will recomend this
place for everybody.
So, thank you Daniele for your hospitality and for six unforgettable

Tenuta Lonciano, the lovingly restored 800-year old former nunnery, is beautiful. The outdoor vistas of the Tuscan hills and of Florence in the distance are breathtaking and can be spied also from the charming stone and wrought iron windows in most of the bedrooms. We thoroughly enjoyed the herb gardens of lavender, sage, thyme, and rosemary, the plum trees, the grove of 2,500 olive trees, and the little farm with a friendly horse, two goats, geese, and the chickens that provided us with fresh eggs. Daniele is the consummate host—attentive, accessible and friendly. Our first day, we had car troubles. Daniele saved the day, driving us to and guiding us through the town supermarket to stock up for the week. We took up his suggestion to order an in-home, chef-prepared meal at the villa that was magnificent. This worked well for our family group of 5 adults, a child and a toddler. There is nothing better than taking in the view of the sun setting over the Tuscan hills and Florence at Tenuta Lonciano while sipping local wine and enjoying a spread of prosciutto, cheeses, breads, and olive oil. Tenuta Lonciano is lovely. Our week in Tuscany and our stay at the villa was an experience worth repeating; the venue is highly recommended. Thank you, Daniele, for a wonderful, memorable time!

We booked the whole Villa 'Tenuta Lonciano' in August and we are absolutely enthusiastic about the location and the hosts. The whole Villa has been renovated in a perfect manner and you can see that a lot of love and taste has been put into it, while the heritage of this ancient monastery has been fully respected. Typically, you do not find such a marvelous villa for rent, so we are still absolutely impressed that we were able to be there. Tenuta Lonciano is situated outside of Florence and Sesto Fiorentino up in the hills. The view is spectacular and there is always a pleasant breeze which allows you to stay outside also on hot summer days and nights. There are some wonderful restaurants close by, which I can highly recommend. If you come from a noisy city, get prepared to enter a quiet paradise just outside of Florence with a wonderful host, Daniele, who gave us a warm welcome with refreshments and snacks and supported us with all necessary information.

Being a group of 10 adults we found the property to be suitable for our
family. Our host Daniele was very generous to shop for us before we
arrived and we had plenty of breakfasts and snacks for the week. Also Daniele made it very easy to find the Villa when he met us at the car rental office at the Florence
Airport. The views were spectacular and the grounds were lovely. Our
weather did not permit swimming but we did spend time outside, almost
every sunset, in the beautiful Gazebo. Mid way through our stay we had a
musical trio entertain us outside. The Gazebo even has a dance floor!
Daniele set up a day with a chef and his partner, lessons and then a
fabulous dinner. We have many wonderful memories to recall for years to
come back!!!

The Villa is located in the mountains overlooking Firenze. It has the most amazing view! The people who run it are extremely friendly and helpful and give you a run down of how and where to go around the area when you first arrive. The rooms are amazing with everything you need. The property has a pool and plenty of areas to lounge around in the sun. We will definatly be coming back on our next trip to Italy!

I cannot say enough about the owner Daniele: this man does well beyond what you pay for to make your stay perfect: carries the bags, gives a briefing upon arrival (including giving a booklet on the place in your language - he checks the bookings in advance) which includes the best ways to approach Florence (and avoid any tourist-traps) Where do you get service like that these days The place is also gorgeous and a real gem of a find! The pool has a gorgeous view over Florence. You can just see everywhere there is exceptional attention to detail, as there are also several places you can sit and sip your wine in the gardens. Another plus: save parking on-site. There are also sensor lights on the driveway if you arrive late. The driveway is a little windy and stoney, but our very-average sedan rental car handled it no worries. N.B. This place is also a great way to avoid the chaotic downtown Florence city traffic (train station is 10 mins driving away, with free parking + 12 mins journey into the central station)

This Villa is truly magnificent! In order to reach this place you definitely need a car but once you get there, you feel like being in paradise. In the country park overlooking Florence, you live in a typical Italian stone house, it's peaceful and relaxing. Daniele and Massimo, the hosts, are very kindly and warmhearted. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished. Especially the bed was so comfortable, we slept like a log. The breakfast is very delicious, with fresh fruits, self-made cake, cold-cuts, lots of cheese, yoghurt and the best omelet. We can not recommend this vila highly enough, it's simply perfect!

Our stay at Villa Lonciano was amazing!! The internet photos do not do it justice. The house is beautiful, big enough so suit a large family. It has every amenity and is decorated superbly. The highlight for us were the incredible views..... You cannot believe that standing atop the hill looking out over the countryside that you are actually so close to Florence. In 10 minutes you are at the train station and in another 10 minutes you are in beautiful Florence. All of our dealings were done smoothly and efficiently and nothing was ever too much trouble. We would recommend this VIlla highly and hope to return in the not too distant future!!

Villa Lonciano is a very nice original Tuscany farmhouse, whith amazing wiew over Sesto Fiorentino, we join to have a week here.
